Micro video borescope MICRON is designed to inspect ultra-thin bores with a diameter of 1.1mm. The outer diameter of the USB micro borescope probe is either 1.95mm or 1.0mm. The standard length is 2 meters (6.5 feet), though custom lengths can easily be manufactured on request. The tiny color CMOS video camera features a 160,000-pixel chip that captures footage in 400x400 resolution. The imaging hub contains an integrated LED light source and a built-in video processor with a USB connection to connect to a computer easily. An additional HDMI output port allows you to stream the inspection process directly to a TV screen. The MICRON borescope probes are protected by the ETFE coating and are waterproof and oilproof.

Mind blowing

Working the Micron hard at the moment - 3D printed a carrier to fit the shape and have just bought additional lighting fibers in a custom light guide and a light source - the slot to inspect absorbs a lot of light, but they are very happy as it keeps them producing.

The prototype is being shown to other prospects to “blow their minds” and reset their thinking about what is possible… as with all these things, I'm never sure what leads to business, but it really helps to have something they remember and talk about as '…I never knew that was even possible…'
